WELCOME...

This website is devoted to one of my passions. Reefkeeping. I have only been involved in reefkeeping since mid 2000, however I have enjoyed the saltwater hobby for over 19 years (25 years in the aquarium hobby as a whole). As a matter of fact, my mated pair of Oscellaris Clowns have been with me for nearly 15 years now and they are happy as can be.

My tank is a 75 gallon reef after starting with a 29 gallon as my starter reef. The smaller tank posed challeges just due to it's size, while the larger tank brings on other challenges, however both have been great experiences. The 75 gallon reef tank is a standard 75 gallon size with a built in overflow to a 40 gallon custom designed sump/refugium. The tank is dedicated to primarily SPS corals as well as light demanding clams. Of course my clownfish have the highest priority in this tank since they are the resident seniors.

In August 2003, I had some issues with my full blown reef. I believe they were related to my DSB not providing the necessary function of cycling the detritus. I lost many coral and some fish to the whole ordeal. I finally removed the deep sand bed and I have essentially started over. But it has been a great learning experience for me and hope to regain the beauty of an SPS tank I once had.

I hope you enjoy this site and I always appreciate feedback. Email me anytime at 75gallonreef@fitermania.com
